Dear Choir Members:
Just wanted to thank the choir men for the great job of leading the way
on the two pieces we sang for Sunday morning's worship service. We had a
total of 20 singers -- 10 regular choir members and 10 volunteers,
including three boys -- and we pretty much filled the choir loft along
with the instruments. We whipped those two pieces together pretty
quickly, but I thought they really sounded great -- exciting , in fact.
And as Kathy Noble told me after the service, it set the bar pretty high
for the upcoming women and girls Sunday, July 28th. (Actually, I'm sure
that group will sound great also.)
But on this occasion, thanks to all the guys who made it a special Sunday.
Allan
P.S. Undoubtedly, you have in mind the next time we get together: July
7th, for the "Battle Hymn of the Republic." And of course this is for
all singers -- men and women, boys and girls, all ages welcome. We have
the same piccolo player returning to accompany us, and it should again
be an exciting and rewarding occasion. I look forward to seeing and
hearing you then.

Men Needed for This Sunday!
Dear Choir Men:
This coming Sunday, June 16th, is the date for the Men and Boys Choir:
I hope a number of non-choir members will join us, but I hope that you
who regularly sing in the choir can be there to give us a nucleus and to
lead the rest of the singers.
So, this is a plea for all of you to come at 8:30 Sunday morning when we
will practice the anthem ("Rise Up, O Men of God") and a short introit
to sing at the 9:30 service. And bring along any volunteers -- all ages
welcome -- that you know of. The more the merrier!
Allan
P.S. to the Women: Reminder that there are two choir dates this summer
for which I hope you can join us: July 7th ("Battle Hymn of the
Republic") and July 28th (Women and Girls Intergenerational Choir).
Hope to see you then.
