Dear Choir:
Just a reminder that there is no choir rehearsal tonight. However, we
will meet at 8:30 Sunday morning. I hope everybody can be in the choir
loft by that time, since we have quite a lot of music to rehearse:
Julie and Tom's anthem, the piece with the trombone, and a couple of hymns.
See you then. Thanks to all.

Tomorrow
Dear Choir:
Just a reminder that our rehearsal Sunday morning is at the usual time of 8:45.
I also wanted to remind you about the seating arrangement I mentioned at Wednesday evening's rehearsal: although we will keep the formation of sopranos and altos sitting on the right side of the choir loft and the tenors and basses sitting on the left side, please mix up the parts on your respective side, with the taller people in the back; i.e., sopranos and altos mix up, and tenors and basses mix up.
See you then and thanks.

Tonight
Dear Choir:
Just one more reminder of the importance of tonight's rehearsal -- the
last one of the season. The anthem for this coming Sunday is one that
we have sung before, so we will spend the major part of the hour on the
music for the last Sunday of this month (the 31st), when we will be
singing Julie Zeidel's composition and also rehearsing the anthem on
which she plays trombone. This is our last chance to rehearse these
pieces together, since we will not have a rehearsal next Wednesday night.
I hope you can make it this evening. And, incidentally, there will be
refreshments after the rehearsal.
See you then.
Thanks.

Wednesday Night's Rehearsal
Dear Choir:
Thanks so much for the lovely music-making yesterday morning. That is really a nice anthem.
Also, I want to urge everybody to try to make it to this Wednesday night's rehearsal, even if you won't be able to sing this coming Sunday (Memorial Day weekend). This will be our last rehearsal before summer break, so we will be rehearsing music for both of the last two Sundays in May. Perhaps even more to the point, Wednesday night will be our last chance to rehearse Julie Zeidel's piece, Carpe Diem, as well as the anthem in which she plays the trombone solo, both of which are scheduled for the last Sunday of the month, May 31st. An added attraction for Wednesday night will be an appearance by Tom Gillaspy, who is coming to talk about his Carpe Diem poem, and together with Julie, about how this collaboration happened and how the piece came together.
I know that a few people will be unable to sing either of the last two Sundays, but I hope everyone else can make it this Wednesday night.
See you then. And thanks again. (*just a little poetry there for your enjoyment)
Sincerely,
Allan

Rehearsals
Dear Choir:
Just wanted to confirm that we will have rehearsal tomorrow night: there
are three Sundays left before the summer break and I think we will need
to rehearse each of the next few Wednesday nights in order to get
well-in-hand the various pieces that are scheduled. There are also a
couple of scheduling conflicts with the instrumentalists, which will be
easier to resolve if we have a rehearsal each Wednesday night. However,
we can cut the rehearsals short to just an hour each time.
Kristen Diederichs and Sue Boeve will be playing oboe and flute,
respectively, on next Sunday's anthem and it will be fun to add their
parts to the music tomorrow night.
Thanks for your singing and devotion -- and caring.
Sincerely,
Allan

Reminder
Dear Choir:
Thanks for the beautiful singing at the funeral service yesterday.
And a reminder that rehearsal will begin at 8:30 tomorrow morning. I
hope you can all make it by that time, since we have a number of things
to go over and will need the extra 15 minutes to accomplish that.
See you at 8:30 Sunday.
Thanks.

Douglas Tomney's funeral
Dear Choir:
We have been asked to sing at Douglas Tomney's funeral on Friday of this
week, May 8, at 10:30. If at all possible, I hope you can arrange your
schedule to be able to sing that morning. Tomorrow night, of course, we
will rehearse the anthem for that service, and then plan to meet on
Friday morning at 10:00 to practice it again and prepare for the
service. I hope this will work out for you.
Tomorrow night will be a busy rehearsal, since Grant West will also be
with us to rehearse the music for Sunday morning's service. I think we
will need to go overtime just a bit -- perhaps to 9:15 -- in order to
get through everything.
I look forward to seeing you then. Thanks.
