No Rehearsal Wednesday

Dear Choir:

Thanks for the fine singing on Christmas Eve day and evening -- and for
calmly surviving the hecticity which always seems to surround these
busier occasions.

But -- no choir rehearsal tomorrow (Wednesday) night.  We all could use
a night off.

We will sing this coming Sunday (the 31st); please meet at the usual
Sunday morning time:  8:45.

I hope that your Christmas was merry -- and that your New Year will be.

Your friendly email reminder

Dear Choir:

What time do we meet tonight?  I knew you would want to know.  We will meet at 9:15 p.m.  There are the three anthems to be rehearsed with the instruments, so I hope your Christmas Eve schedule will make it possible to be in the choir loft by that time -- but whatever the case, come as soon as you can.

Along with many others, I thought this morning's service was especially worshipful.  But I knew it would be, as soon as I had heard Laura's prelude, then the choir's beautifully-sung introit, and on through the rest of the service -- an unusually meaningful experience of worship challenging us all to consider the profound implications of the birth of Jesus.

Thank you for all your contributions -- today and every Sunday -- in helping to deliver this message.

Sincerely,

            Allan

P.S.  We could use a couple more people to help erase pencil marks on the instrumental parts from last Sunday's service, which I need to return to the publisher.  Please let me know if you might be available at 10:00 a.m. this coming Wednesday morning for about an hour.  (There will be steaks, baked potatoes with marinated root vegetables hand-picked in Portugal, and cherry pie served afterwards ------------ unless I don't have time to fix them.)

Tomorrow morning reminder

Dear Choir:

It's time for another reminder in this busy music season.  The choir
will rehearse Sunday (tomorrow) morning at 8:45 a.m., our usual time.
Please try to be in the choir loft by that time.  There is a carol sing
at 9:15, so we need to be finished with our rehearsal a few minutes
before that.  Maggie Zeidel will be there to rehearse her trombone part
with us in the anthem.

See you then.  Thanks to all.

                    -- Allan

(I'll send out a separate reminder for the Christmas Eve service.)

Tonight's rehearsal

Dear Choir:

We're back to the 7:00 p.m. starting time tonight, with a lot less rehearsal pressure than the last several weeks.  Whew!!

But that extra rehearsal time was worth it, I think.  Lenny Snellman's "WOW" pretty much summed it up.  The piece really went well, and it was rewarding and uplifting to be a part of it and of the entire service, words and music.  Thanks for all your time and talent.

Tonight, we will need to rehearse the Christmas Eve music first, since the instruments will be there early to rehearse with Laura and then will go through the anthems for that service with us.  After that we will rehearse the anthem for the morning service on Sunday, and if time permits, look quickly at the music for the next Sunday.

See you then.

            Allan

P.S.  I heard on MPR this morning that music by Libby Larsen will be performed on a Schubert Club concert this week; I didn't catch the precise details.  I wonder if a group might be doing the Ringeltänze.  It would be appropriate -- and we could always fill in, in case that group all came down with the flu or something.

Schedule for Sunday morning

Dear Choir:

Here is your friendly daily reminder of the schedule for tomorrow
(Sunday) morning.

Meet in the choir loft a few seconds before 8:30.  If you have time to
put on robes before then, that would be fine, but most important is that
we start rehearsal on time at 8:30.

If you do have a chance to put your robe on early and can help out with
the carol sing following rehearsal, that would be great.  And no one
will want to miss the opening movement of the Corelli Christmas concerto
which Laura and the strings are playing for the prelude (other movements
for the offertory and postlude).

So it should be a wonderfully joyfully worshipful service as we
celebrate the coming of Christ.  I hope it will be worthy of all the
hard work we have done to prepare the music.

Thanks to all.

            Sincerely,
                            Allan

P.S.  After last Wednesday night's somewhat grueling rehearsal, I have
to say I don't mind going back to our more normal 7:00-8:30 p.m.
rehearsal time, starting next week!  (But thanks again for all the extra
time put in the last several weeks.)

Rehearsal tomorrow night

Dear Choir:

A reminder that choir will begin at 7:00 tomorrow night (our new/usual starting time), but please gather in the children's choir room at that time, rather than the dining room (which will be in use for K4C).  The string quartet and the bells will be practicing in the sanctuary, and Laura will rehearse some of the tricky places in the music with you all; then we will gather together to sing through the Ringeltänze.

We will also need to spend a little time afterwards looking at the pieces for upcoming Christmas worship services.

I'm looking forward to hearing the Ringeltänze with all the parts together; hope you are, too.

See you tomorrow night at 7:00.

Thanks for your time and talent.  It will be a special service on Sunday.

Change of plans

Dear Choir:

After brashly announcing with much confidence this morning that rehearsal would be at 7:30 this coming Wednesday evening, I now need to tell you that, in fact, rehearsal will begin at 7:00 this Wednesday.  Please meet in the dining room and Laura will work with everyone to clear up the places that are still problematic.  Then, we can put everything together with the bells and the string quartet at 7:30.   In order to sing through all we need to rehearse before Christmas, we will probably need to go a bit past 8:30, but this should be the last time that's necessary for awhile.

Before Wednesday night I'll send a reminder of this information, but I just wanted to let you know of the change so you will have it on your calendars.

Thanks for all the hard -- and good -- work, including this morning.

Plans for this Sunday morning

Dear Choir:

The bells and the children's choir will be rehearsing in the sanctuary tomorrow morning, so we will need to move our rehearsal to the dining room, at our usual time of 8:45.  We will have only 30 minutes to get organized and rehearse, so I hope everyone can make it a bit before 8:45.

Please come directly to the dining room -- the music will be there.

If you are able to arrive early, it might be a good idea to go ahead and put your robe on before we rehearse.  However if your schedule doesn't permit your arriving early, please come directly to the dining room without getting your robe:  you may recall that we haven't had much time to rehearse Sunday's anthem, so it would be very helpful if we all could rehearse together starting at 8:45.

The carol sing begins at 9:15 and I am hoping that many of you will be available to bolster the crowd a bit for that.

Thanks to all.

                Allan

P.S.  Sopranos:  please remember that we are going to rehearse a few especially tricky parts of the Ringeltänze immediately after the service tomorrow morning.

Thanks

Dear Choir:

Thanks so much for the excellent (not to mention, tiring!) rehearsal
tonight.  Each Wednesday night we have made good progress on this
difficult music, and although various places remain that need more work,
of course**, there are many lovely passages that have come together very
nicely:  on the way home this evening,  I was thinking especially of the
opening of "Beautiful Star," which you all sang with beautiful warmth;
and the beginning of the last movement, "Noel, noel," which really
sparkled tonight, and got that final movement off to a great start.

Thanks for your devotion and patience.  It is much appreciated by me --
and will be appreciated by the congregation on the 17th.

Sincerely,

                    Allan

**The plan is to clear up a few of those places in the soprano part by
sticking around for a short rehearsal after the worship service
Sunday.   Hope this will work for all of you in that section.

Important Info for Wednesday night's rehearsal!

Dear Choir:

We need to make a change in tomorrow night's rehearsal time: REHEARSAL
WILL BEGIN AT 7:30 TOMORROW NIGHT (not 7:00).  The reason for this
change is that the bells will be coming in at 7:00 to practice their
parts in the music, then we will put the choir and the bells together at
7:30.

Please do your best to be in the choir loft (quietly, of course!) by
7:30, since we have a large amount of music to rehearse.

With the later start-time, we will need to extend the rehearsal a bit
longer past 9:00; I hope that singing all this good music will make it
all worth your usual patience and good will and time as we prepare our
hearts and minds (and music) for the Christmas season.

Thanks to all for your very-much-appreciated devotion.  See you at 7:30
(7:29? perhaps).

Sincerely,
                        Allan

Reminder for Wednesday night

Dear Choir:

Just a reminder that we will need to extend choir rehearsal for 15
minutes or so this Wednesday night, in order to have enough time to sing
completely through the Ringeltänze as well as take quick looks at music
for the other services coming up before Christmas.  So we'll start at
our usual new time of 7:00 p.m. and will end before 9:00.

Thanks very much for your time and devotion to the cause.  I think the
effort will be worth it as we put all this music together with the
instruments, and lead the congregation in celebrating the coming of the
Messiah.

Sincerely,

             Allan

Rehearsal tonight

Dear Choir:

Here's a reminder that we will rehearse at our usual new time tonight --
7:00.  We will sing through the Christmas piece and the anthem for
Sunday, and take a quick look at music for the upcoming services of
Advent and Christmas, and be out of there before you know it!

Hope you can be there -- and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

No Choir Sunday

Dear Choir:

Here's the reminder that the choir does not sing at the service
tomorrow; instead the Partners in Praise Girls Choir will be providing
special music.  They will be singing the prelude (as well as at other
times during the service), so be sure to arrive a bit early so as not to
miss any of their music.

Thanks for the good rehearsal Wednesday night.  And keep in mind that we
will rehearse next Wednesday night at our usual new time -- 7:00 p.m.
We will need to rehearse the anthems for coming Sundays of Advent, and
continue to move forward on the special music for Christmas.

Many thanks for many good things -- and sings [noun].

Sincerely,
               Allan

Wouldn't want anybody to forget that Wednesday-night choir rehearsal now
begins at 7:00.

See you tomorrow night.

Thanks to, and for, all.

No Choir Tomorrow

Dear Choir:

A reminder that we are not singing at the service tomorrow; the bells will be playing.  You can really enjoy your extra hour/s -- of sleep.

            Allan

P.S.  But if you haven't had a chance to mark the page numbers in your Ringeltänze score, this might be a good time to do that.  Remember, every single page is numbered, including the title pages.  Thanks for taking care of this and for all you do to worship the Lord with music.

Reflections, etc.

Dear Choir:

'Tis said that pride goeth before a fall, or something, but I must tell
you that as I drove home from Sunday's worship service I had a great
feeling of pride:  first of all in the uplifting service, but also in
the way the choir and organ and brass and congregation (not to mention,
of course, Cader and the liturgists, one of whom was Julie, of course)
all contributed to the festive nature of the service, as we praised God
together.  And I was especially proud to be part of the music-making of
the choir; the first phrase of "This Is the Day," was such a wonderful
moment.  I think this is what singing -- and making beautifully-shaped
phrases -- and music! -- is all about.  Thanks for providing that
experience -- recognized or not, but nevertheless experienced -- to all
of us listeners.

Sincerely,
                        Allan

P.S.  And don't forget about our new starting (and stopping) time for
Wednesday night:  7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

See you then.  And thanks again.  (Just a little rhyme there to
brighten your day.)

Sunday morning -- 8:30 a.m.

Dear Choir:

A reminder that choir rehearsal starts at 8:30 tomorrow morning:  we
have a number of things to practice with the brass group, so we'll need
a little extra time.  Please be in the choir loft in order to begin at
8:30; there will be opportunity to put on robes after rehearsal.

See you then -- and thanks!

Wednesday night

Dear Choir:

When the walls of Jericho came tumbling down some thousands of years
ago, I doubt that anyone had any inkling of an almost-as-momentous event
which would occur thousands of years later.  But it has happened:  the
walls of choir rehearsal time have tumbled, and choir rehearsal will
start at 7:00 tomorrow evening -- ending, of course, at 8:30 (for all
you doubters).  Actually we have trumpeters coming Sunday to help with
the whole wall thing, just like in the days of the Israelites.

So see you tomorrow evening at 7:00.

And thanks for marching -- and especially for singing -- with the troops.

See you then.

Weekend Schedule

Dear Choir:

Perhaps the following reminders will be an aid to keeping everything straight this weekend.

Saturday (tomorrow) -- Don Irwin's memorial service
3:30-4:30 p.m. -- Meet in sanctuary to rehearse the three anthems with the Valley Chamber Chorale

        5:00 p.m. -- Memorial service

After the service -- supper is served in the dining room

                        Nota Bene:
                                    1. We will be wearing robes for the service, but please wait to put yours on until after the rehearsal, when there will be plenty of time to do so.
                                    2.  We will be using the same general seating arrangement that we normally use with our choir -- tenors and basses on the left-hand side, sopranos and altos on the right-hand side -- so you can head for those areas and find a seat therein, but remember:
leave empty chairs in order to intersperse with the VCC members.
                                    3.  Even with this advance information, it will still be somewhat hectic until everyone is seated, since there will be more singers than chairs in the choir loft, and we will need to figure out where to put everyone.  So just keep smiling.

Sunday morning -- Choir is not singing, as this is the Sunday for the Bells of the Valley to play.

Thanks for your good work and extra commitment of time -- all for a worthy cause.  I'm sure it is appreciated by the Irwin family and the congregation, and I know it is appreciated by me.

Sincerely,

                Allan

Wednesday night's rehearsal

Dear Choir:

Just a reminder that choir rehearsal will start tomorrow (Wednesday)
night at 7:00, rather than 7:30.

And thanks for the fine singing last Sunday.  More people than usual
have commented about how effective and meaningful the worship service
was, including the music, which they felt contributed greatly to the
service.

Regarding this Sunday

Dear Choir:

Thanks so much for your admirable devotion and flexibility -- and for
the good rehearsal we had Wednesday night -- and for your willingness to
expand Wednesday-night rehearsals from 7:00 - 9:00 for awhile.

In this regard, I am almost hesitant to ask for another favor, but the
fact is that when Laura and I got together this morning to go through
all the music we will be singing this coming Sunday, October 1st, it
became evident that in order to have time to rehearse everything, we
will need to meet at 8:30 this Sunday morning.  It will be a great
worship service and rewarding to sing, but besides the music we were
able to rehearse Wednesday night, there are several additional pieces we
did not get to.  (It is not that these works are difficult, but I just
want to make sure we have enough time so that everyone can get familiar
with them.)  Also, Julie Zeidel will be joining us to provide percussion
accompaniment to most of the things, so it would be helpful for her and
us to work together on these.

So please plan to be in the choir loft at 8:30 Sunday morning.  And rest
assured that there is an upcoming date sometime in 2019, when we can
take off a Wednesday-night rehearsal, or at least shorten it by 10
minutes or so, to compensate for all this extra time right now!

Thanks again.

            Allan

P.S.  Or is it in 2020?

Thanks, plus Sunday morning

Dear Choir:

Thanks to all those who, with the very short notice, were able to travel
over to the Irwins Wednesday night after choir rehearsal to sing some
hymns with Don.  It was good for us all to be able to get together with
Don and family.

Also, just wanted to remind you that rehearsal tomorrow morning is at
our usual 8:45 time.  We do have quite a few pieces to rehearse, so I
hope everyone can be in the choir loft by 8:45.  (Robes can be put on
afterwards.)

See you then.  And thanks to all for all you do.

Sunday morning

Dear Choir:

What a great rehearsal we had Wednesday night! It was a joy to hear us
singing again after the summer hiatus. Even the four-chord humming
warmup sounded better than usual.

However, we still need to meet a bit early tomorrow morning: please be
in the choir loft ready to sing by 8:30 (rather than the usual 8:45).
We have several pieces we need to rehearse with the bells,

See you then.

Thanks.

Rehearsals begin anew

Dear Choir:

As chilly as it is this morning, one might think that we were already
well into October and had already been singing for several weeks.

It is, of course, however, only the first week of September -- and
Wednesday-night choir rehearsals begin tomorrow night! We have some
great music to sing -- new anthems as well as oldies-but-goodies -- and
I am especially excited about the work we will be singing on our
Christmas special music Sunday in December.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night at 7:30.

Thanks for singing.

Thanks! -- and reminder about tonight

Dear Choir:

Many thanks to the sopranos and altos for leading the way with the great
group of singers who came together last Sunday morning. We truly
achieved a great-sounding -- and intergenerational -- choir! I thought
both pieces sounded great -- and fit in well with the rest of the service.

And here's a reminder to all: this is the day we host the neighborhood
picnic. It looks like it might be an indoor picnic, but that's okay --
a picnic is a picnic. As Linda Orsted indicated in her Tuesday email,
those helping with setup should be at the church at 4:30, but even if
you don't have early (4:30) responsibilities or are not among those
providing food, please come at 5:30 to eat with everyone and help host
our friends and neighbors. And anyone who can stay to help the clean-up
crew is welcome.

Thanks to all for all you do.

Sincerely,
Allan

Calling Sopranos and Altos

Dear Choir -- and especially sopranos and altos:

This Sunday is the day for the sopranos and altos -- volunteers and
regular members -- to provide special music at the morning worship
service. I hope you will be able to come sing and lead the way for any
others who may come and join us. The plan is to meet at 8:30 a.m. and
practice two good anthems, which will be easily learned and rewarding to
sing. The music will be in the choir loft and no robes are required.

Hope to see you then. Thanks.

Allan

P.S. And just a reminder: this coming Wednesday, August 9th, is the
date for the choir to host the weekly Wednesday-evening neighborhood
picnic. There have been consistently good turn-outs for these picnics
all summer. Linda Orsted is coordinating everything, and I'm sure will
be sending out more details early next week.

Last Sunday - Thanks

Dear Choir:

Special thanks to the tenors and basses for the fine job in last
Sunday's summer choir. I thought -- and several tough critics agreed --
that we sounded pretty good.

Thanks very much for coming and singing. I appreciate your taking the
time to do so.

Sincerely,
Allan

P.S. Sopranos and altos: Sunday, August 6th. I'm looking forward to it.

This Sunday! Tenors and Basses! Help!

Dear Choir -- especially tenors and basses:

This Sunday, July 16th, is the day for the pick-up choir of tenors and
basses to sing at the worship service. If you are available, I hope you
will come and bolster the ranks.

The plan is to meet at 8:30 a.m., rehearse two readily accessible but
quite enjoyable anthems, then sing them at the worship service. Kristen
Diederichs will be providing oboe-enhancement for each of the pieces,
and I think they will be quite rewarding to sing.

No robes needed, and the choir folders will be upstairs. Join us and
invite other non-regulars.

Thanks to all.

Allan

P.S. The sopranos and altos are scheduled for Sunday, August 6th.

Dear Choir:

It's time to plan the picnic we will be hosting on Wednesday, August 9th. I was involved in the first picnic and the menu worked well, so I thought we would repeat it. We over-estimated the amount of sloppy joe filling we needed, so there is quite a bit in the freezer that we can use. We could probably use another small batch to add to it. Here is what I plan on serving:

Sloppy joes on buns
Raw veggies
Pickles
Watermelon
Brownies/cookies

We could probably use 2 people per item. I will purchase the buns. I would also like 5 or 6 volunteers to help prep, serve, and clean up. We need to be at the church at 4:30 and should be done by 6:30 or 6:45.

Please let me know if you can help in any way. (It's fun!)

Linda,

I'll be happy to make the additional sloppy joe filling, and help with setup, serving, cleanup, etc.  Do you have a suggested recipe for me?

Dates for summer choirs -- schedule change

Dear Choir:

It turns out that we will need to make a slight adjustment in one of the summer pick-up choir dates:

Men and Boys choir -- the date remains July 16th

Women and Girls choir -- change the date to August 6th

Hope this will work out for everybody.  Thanks to all.

Additional news

Dear Choir:

In the earlier email today, I forgot to mention our participation in the Wednesday-night neighborhood picnics.  The entire congregation is welcome -- and in fact, urged -- to attend the picnics on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer.

But of special interest is the one for which we, as the choir, are responsible for hosting:  Wednesday evening, August 9th.  Linda Orsted, bless her heart, has volunteered to be the organizer/liaison person for that date.

Please put that date on your calendar.  And thanks to Linda, who will be in touch with us as the day nears.

    Allan

News and Thanks.

Dear Choir:

Thanks very much for singing in the choir, and for this past year's
musical undertakings which were especially rewarding musically and
spiritually for me, and I hope for you, also.

As I mentioned on Sunday, the dates for the pick-up choirs this summer
are as follows:

Boys and men -- July 16

Women and girls -- July 30

(If you know you are not available on one of these dates, it would be
helpful if you let me know. It might be possible to change the date(s),
or not, as the case may be, but do let me know of your availability if
your summer plans are firm.)

Also I wanted to let you know about upcoming performances of the
Schubert Mass in G.

1) About six months out of the year at the Church of St. Agnes in St.
Paul -- 548 Lafond Avenue -- they perform a classic setting of the Mass
text, with orchestra and soloists, as part of their Sunday morning Mass
worship service. Last Sunday it was a Mass by Mozart. On Sunday, June
18th, it will be the Schubert Mass in G. I have attended one of their
services in the past, and it is uplifting to hear this music in a
European-type cathedral setting. If you are interested in attending,
the service begins at 10:00; I enjoyed being there, although the service
is a bit longer than our usual one.

2) It turns out that the Phipps Festival Chorus is planning to do the
Mass in G as part of the 2017/2018 concert series.

Always chances to hear good music in the area.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,
Allan

Choir Singing on Sunday

Dear Choir:

Didn't want you to forget that the choir is singing one more Sunday this
spring, before our summer break. See you Sunday morning at usual time
-- 8:45 a.m.

Thanks to all.

Tomorrow morning

Dear Choir (but especially for those who are available tomorrow morning):

We have a couple of pieces to rehearse with Sue Boeve, so I think we
need to start the rehearsal promptly at 8:45. There will be time to put
on robes after rehearsal, so please come directly to the choir loft,
unless you arrive at the church really early.

These two anthems sounded very fine when we rehearsed them a week ago,
but of course we won't have a chance to rehearse them with Sue until
tomorrow morning.

So, see you then.

And many thanks.

No rehearsal Wednesday night

Dear Choir:

A reminder might be helpful to you: we have no more Wednesday-night
rehearsals until next fall.

However, the choir will be singing this coming Sunday, May 28th. If you
are available, please come at the usual rehearsal time -- 8:45 a.m. --
to rehearse two anthems, with Sue Boeve on flute.

Hope to see you then. Thanks.

Allan

P.S. The choir will also be singing the next Sunday, June 4th: usual
rehearsal time, etc.

Saturday, May 20, 2017

Reminders

Dear Choir:

As you all probably recall, the choir is not singing this Sunday
(tomorrow), since it is the handbells extravaganza service.

We will be singing at the worship services two more times, however: May
28th (Memorial Day weekend), and June 4th (Pentecost Sunday [and also
the weekend of the men's retreat]). Please come and sing if you are in
town then.

A reminder, too, that our Wednesday-night rehearsals have now ended
until next fall. We will meet at the usual time on Sunday morning (8:45
a.m.) on the two dates listed above (May 28, June 4). Last Wednesday
night we rehearsed the anthems for those two Sundays.

Thanks for a wonderfully rewarding year of making music and worshiping
together. It has been uplifting for me, and I hope for you, also.

Sincerely,

Allan

P.S. I will be in touch later about the dates this summer for the
women's-choir-Sunday and the men's-choir-Sunday. Hope you can come and
sing with any volunteers who might want to join us on one of those
days. Thanks again.

Reminder for tomorrow morning

Dear Choir:

No doubt everyone remembers that rehearsal tomorrow morning is at 8:30
a.m. But just in case someone doesn't remember, here is the information
about tomorrow morning's rehearsal time: we rehearse at 8:30 a.m.

The goal is to sing through the Schubert, then go over the hymns, order
of service, etc. So we need to start rehearsing at 8:30; there will be
plenty of time to don your robe after the rehearsal, so please be sure
to be in the choir loft by 8:30.

Wednesday-night's rehearsal was really exciting, and I have no doubt
that this music will be equally uplifting when it becomes part of
tomorrow's worship service.

Sincere thanks for all the time and effort you put in week after week.

No Choir Sunday

Dear Choir:

Just a reminder that the choir is not singing this Sunday; the
Children's Choir will be providing the special music.

(Another reminder: the time is getting short before we sing the
Schubert Mass in G on May 14th. See you next Wednesday night.)

Reminder for Easter Sunday morning

Dear Choir:

What a moving and significant service last night -- to which the various
choral and other special music numbers greatly contributed. Thanks to
all for your important part in this Holy Week observance.

The greatest of all Holy Week services -- in fact the celebration of the
greatest of all events in human history -- is still to come (although as
you will recall, it comes a bit early Sunday morning): we meet at 7:30
a.m. to rehearse quite a lot of music, but it is fun and uplifting to
sing, I hope. There will be time after the rehearsal to don your
robes, so please come directly to the choir loft unless you arrive early.

Also a reminder that we will be singing for both the 8:30 and 11:00
services; I hope you are able to remain for both services.

Sincere thanks for your commitment of time and talent.

Allan

Good Friday plans

Dear Choir:

A reminder that we meet for rehearsal Friday night at 6:00, although it
would be great if you were able to arrive even prior to that. As I
mentioned last night, it will probably be hectic, trying to get everyone
seated, then have enough time to rehearse the music. It would be
helpful if you just come into the choir loft and sit down rather than
hanging around in the aisles or in the pews. We will use our usual
seating pattern, but of course we will need to fit in 20 more singers.
Also, it's likely that the rehearsal will be tight timewise, so if you
had time to put on your robes before the rehearsal starts, that would be
a good idea. But most importantly, do your best to be seated in the
choir loft by 6:00.

Actually, most importantly is to be flexible -- and to keep smiling --
as we try to get things arranged.

Actually, of course, the most important thing is our worshiping together
in a meaningful and thoughtful Good Friday service (but all of the above
will help achieve that).

Thanks for all you do.

And thanks for the great rehearsal last night! It was greatly uplifting
for me and I hope for you also.
