Reminders
A reminder that the choir is not singing this Sunday since the bells
will be playing.
But -- Sheila Gustafson is preaching, and Randy Bach is playing the organ.
See you there.

Thanks -- and looking ahead
Thanks so much for the beautiful singing at Harriett's service. I have
to say that's the best I have ever heard us sing the "Hallelujah"
chorus; it was truly inspiring and very meaningful for the family -- and
for us -- and I think it was appreciated by all in attendance. And the
other anthem was, as always, beautifully sung.
Thanks for your time and devotion.
Sincerely,
Allan
P.S. We are back to our regular rehearsal schedule and are singing the
anthem with the children's choir this coming Sunday. See you Wednesday
evening at 7:30. And thanks again.

Tomorrow morning
Just a reminder that we are meeting at 8:30 tomorrow morning, in order
to have time (I hope) to practice everything. As you will recall from
Wednesday night, that anthem is a bit tricky -- but fun to sing -- so we
will need to spend a little more time on it than usual.
Thanks. See you at 8:30 a.m.

Subject: Harriett Strohbehn's funeral
As you have no doubt heard, one of First Presbyterian's most respected
and loved long-time members, Harriett Strohbehn, passed away yesterday,
and the funeral is planned for 11:00 Monday morning. In the advance
planning for her funeral, she had requested that the choir sing the
"Hallelujah" chorus to close the service.
I am writing at this time to get some idea of who will be available to
sing Monday morning, and ask that you would send back as soon as
possible an email indicating whether or not you can attend. The plan
would be to gather at 10:00 a.m. on Monday to rehearse not only the
chorus but possibly a second anthem, also.
It also would probably be a good idea if we did a quick run-through of
the "Hallelujah" chorus on Sunday morning during the rehearsal for the
worship service, just to find out what the problems might be. In order
to do this while having enough time to practice the anthem and hymn
we'll be singing Sunday, we would need to meet at 8:30 (rather than
8:45), so I hope everyone will be able to come 15 minutes earlier Sunday
morning -- 8:30.
Thanks very much for all you do for the choir and for our worship
services -- and in so many and varied ways, for the church.
Sincerely,
Allan
P.S. Don't forget to let me know about your availability.

Important rehearsal tonight
It's possible that you have already noticed this, but just in case, I
thought I'd mentioned that it is cold outside.
However, the good news is that it's warm and cozy in the sanctuary at
the church, and we have a really great anthem to sing Sunday: "Fum, Fum,
Fum," with Laura and Rebecca playing the piano duet accompaniment.
So I hope it will work out for you to come to tonight's rehearsal and
sing this fun piece (as well as a few others, of course).
Thanks to all.
Allan
