Schedule for this weekend

Dear Choir:

As promised, here are the schedules for Good Friday and Easter Sunday:

Good Friday service (tonight): 
                Rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. 
                        If possible, please get your robe before then, since there will be a shorter time than usual between the end of our rehearsal and the beginning of the service. 
                            But most important is to be in the choir loft by 6:30 so we can rehearse with the flute and cello.

 Easter Sunday:
                Rehearsal at 9:00 a.m. 
                        Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m.
                        There will be time on Sunday morning, unlike Friday evening, to get your robe on between the end of the rehearsal and the beginning of the 10:00 a.m. service.  (You will recall there is only one service this year.)

Special thanks to everyone for the extra time you have given to prepare for these important worship services.  Thank you especially for the really good rehearsal Wednesday night, when we were able to sing through all the music that we needed to.  I know everyone was exhausted by the end (including me!).

Schedule reminder

Dear Choir:

As we begin the Holy Week services and look forward to Easter, we have a
lot of nice music to sing.  Just wanted to remind you that this evening
-- Wednesday -- we will again plan to go 15 minutes longer to be sure we
have time to rehearse all the upcoming music.

The instruments will be with us, so please do your best to be in the
choir loft by 7:00 -- and we will make joyful music together.

P.S. And thanks also for last Sunday's anthem, "Hosanna to the Son of
David."  I thought it really went well!

2 Reminders

Dear Choir:

Reminder No. 1:  The choir is not singing tomorrow morning; the bells
are providing the special music.

Reminder No. 2:  Don't forget to get up at 2:00 a.m. to set your clocks
forward by one hour for daylight saving time.

Yesterday's anthem

Dear Choir:

Just wanted to share the good feeling I had about our anthem at
yesterday's service.  It seemed that everything just came together:
lovely tone quality of the singing, good blending of voices, individual
voice lines coming out clearly at important moments, (not to mention
right notes and rhythms).  The result, I think, is that the music
enhances the text and carries it to the listener in the congregation in
a more meaningful way, contributing to our worship together.  When we
finished singing it, I found myself wishing that we could do it again
right then, because it had seemed so uplifting.

I hope it made you feel as good as it did me.

See you Wednesday night, keeping my fingers crossed that the weather
will clear up by then!
