Dear Choir:
Reminders:
1) the Choir is not singing this Sunday.
2) next Wednesday night's rehearsal is especially important as it
is the last rehearsal before we join the instruments.
Incidentally, in this week's email-Connection from the church, it lists
the late Christmas Eve service as 10:00 p.m. This is an error: as
announced at choir rehearsal and in bulletin and pulpit announcements,
this Christmas Eve service (at which the Choir will sing) is at 9:00 p.m.
Thanks for your consistent patience and musical singing.
Allan

Greetings and Salutations
Dear Choir:
Just wanted to say that we are on the home stretch with the music for
the Christmas season; we have a lot of lovely music to sing in the
coming weeks, but I believe it will come together nicely in the days ahead.
Two other bits of information:
1) Please remember that rehearsal will go an extra 15 minutes
tomorrow night. In addition to the special music with the instruments
for December 16th, there are also the anthems for the Sunday right
before Christmas and for Christmas Eve. So we will need to make good use
of each upcoming rehearsal.
2) Please use the different seating formation we used a couple of
times a few weeks ago: sopranos on the right side of the choir loft,
altos on the left side, with the basses and tenors in the middle. I
think this will work best for the music we will be singing in the coming
days.
Sincere thanks for the commitment of your time and and your voices to
make beautiful music together.
See you tomorrow night.

Info for Tuesday night -- and beyond
Dear Choir:
As somebody mentioned after Sunday's service, we peaked on that anthem at just the right time -- when we actually sang it in the worship service! It really went very well and the passages for men alone or women alone were quite fine. Plus, the organ accompaniment was especially lovely. Thanks to all for the hard work.
Here's the schedule for Tuesday (tomorrow) night:
1) Meet at the JX Event Venue, 123 N. Second Street in Stillwater (across the street from the Lowell Inn) at 6:00 p.m. Please arrive a bit early, if possible.
2) There may be some parking available on the street, but I assume the next best bet would be the parking ramp north on Second Street, beyond the Lowell Inn.
3) Bring the anthem piece -- "We Praise You, O God" -- and your folder (you won't need any of the other music in your folder, if you wish to take it out for this occasion).
4) No robes.
5) After the service -- which begins at 7:00 p.m. -- and the pot-luck dessert pie fellowship hour which follows the service, be sure to take your music and folder with you and bring them back to the church Sunday morning.
***Other Information***
There will be no rehearsal Wednesday night (Thanksgiving Eve) of this week.
Meet at the usual time of 8:45 on Sunday morning. Since I have been called to Florida for the weekend, Daryl Timmer will be directing the choir on Sunday. The anthem will be a repeat of Tuesday night's anthem ("We Praise You, O God").
Thanks again for all your time, talent, and commitment.
Sincerely,
Allan

Re: Tonight's rehearsal

In honor of the new 8-foot principal (and also probably more because we
could use a little extra rehearsal time for all the good holiday music
coming up), please remember that we will be going 15 minutes extra this

However, since it will be so nice to have the organ back again, the time
will surely fly by.
Also, a reminder about the Community Thanksgiving service next Tuesday
evening, at which I hope many of you will be available to sing in the
choir; there will be more specific information tonight on that service.
See you this evening -- 7:00 - 8:45.
Thanks much.

News items
Dear Choir:
Just a reminder that we will not be singing Sunday morning: the bells and the children's choir will be providing the special music.
And a second reminder -- of the concert at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, 2115 Summit Avenue, St. Paul, celebrating the 350th anniversary of the birth of the great early-Baroque French composer, François Couperin, during which our own Laura Edman will be playing the organ for part of the featured work. The concert is at 7:30, and besides Laura and other local organists, the Consortium Carissimi choral ensemble will be performing.
Promises to be a very fine concert.
And -- thanks for the good rehearsal last Wednesday evening. The Christmas piece and the forthcoming anthems are coming along well.

Tomorrow
Dear Choir:
Just confirming that we are singing tomorrow. Meet at the usual time of
8:45.
BUT, it will really be an hour later than usual, won't it -- because
Daylight Saving Time ends tonight. So set your clocks back an hour --
but be sure to be in the choir loft by 8:45, since we have several
pieces of music to sing through during rehearsal.
See you then. And thanks.

Jane and Dan's move to Lake
Dear Choir--
You are probably aware that Jane and Dan are moving all of their
belongings from Boutwell's to their lake home. They could use some
help. If you would be available tomorrow (Friday) at 1 p.m. to help
Jane pack up the kitchen, let me know.
