Tonight's rehearsal and other things

Dear Choir Members:

I still have ear-worms (of the various pieces we sang on Sunday) going
about in my head -- right now it's "Slow Me Down" but various melodies
have been rotating around for the past 48 hours. It was really
enjoyable to hear you sing (live! -- rather than as the ear worms) at
Sunday's service. And although each piece went well, there were
passages here and there where the various sections of the choir seemed
to really shine: the sopranos when they sing alone on that short but
lovely passage in the middle of "The Eyes of All."
The altos on the closing phrase of the same piece. The tenors in "If Ye
Love Me." The basses on the dipsy-doodle 3+3+2 rhythm in "Praise to the
Lord." There were other places, but these seem to come to mind
immediately. And Bill and Stephanie were excellent on their solos.
(Holly was really pleased that we sang her piece, by the way.)

So, thanks for all that.

We still have several things to practice for Pentecost Sunday, so
tonight's rehearsal will be at the usual time of 7:30. See you then.

Sincerely,

Allan
