Jeffrey Van program

Dear Choir:

Many of you will recall the significant connections our choir has had
with the eminent Twin Cities/ U of Minnesota guitarist and composer
Jeffrey Van. Most important was the anthem, "The Voice of God," which
we commissioned from him several years ago in memory of Barb Roth and
which Mr. Van performed with us. Several years before that he had come
to First Presbyterian to accompany us in the singing of five of his
well-known Christmas pieces, and just this past fall we sang one of his
early compositions, "God So Loved the World," at a Sunday service.

Probably some already know that MPR is programming a Jeffrey Van
special, featuring his music and guitar, the first broadcast of which is
tonight on KSJN-FM (99.5) at 8:00. But I thought others might want to
listen, as well -- thus the purpose of this email -- to let you know
about the recognition of this internationally-known musician.
