Dear Choir:
One of the things that's so rewarding about a church choir is that the singers almost always come through -- even if it's at the last minute. Thanks for coming through in several ways on Sunday. First of all, for just getting there (sort of an "over the river and through the woods" situation); for a while it looked like there would be more people in the choir than in the congregation! And secondly, for coming through on the introit and anthem so well, given the somewhat limited rehearsal time we had had.
Now for a reminder: even if you cannot be there on a given Sunday or the bells are playing that day, please be sure to come to the Wednesday night's rehearsal. We have a lot of nice music coming up in the next weeks, and I'm especially thinking of the Messiah choruses scheduled in the spring -- before we know it, the time will be upon us. (Assuming we will not be singing "Long Is Our Winter" for the next several months.) And, of course, most of a Wednesday night's rehearsal is spent on music for coming weeks, since the following Sunday's anthem is fairly well set by then.
Actually, everyone is already good about being at rehearsals -- another thing I am thankful for -- so thanks for coming through on that, also.
See you Wednesday.
Allan
