Last Sunday

Dear Choir:

As many of you know, we had a great time last Sunday hosting the singers
and instrumentalists of the South African ensemble, 29:11. Their music
for the service was inspiring and rewarding to hear, there was a good
attendance at the interesting education hour following the service, and
the luncheon afterwards was a hit with everybody:  the members of the
group were friendly, outgoing, and fun to talk with, and the food was
especially good, including three kinds of soup (one, my favorite, made
by Linda).

So thanks to all the choir members who stayed around to eat and chat
with the group, and especially special thanks to all those who provided
food, helped with the serving, and did clean-up afterwards:  Peter
Ulland, for those delicious salads made from his garden; Mary Gillespie,
veggies and potato salad (and made the coffee); Laura Edman, cookies;
Dianne May and Noel White, brownies; Curt Jackson, watermelon.  All the
aforementioned helped with the serving, clean-up, and dish-drying, along
with Loraine Stoops, but honorable mention goes to Ken May, technically
a non-choir member, who took charge of the dishwashing -- ably assisted
by Rebecca Erickson.

So, to summarize, it was a really nice day, and the members of 29:11
were profusive in their thanks for our welcoming hospitality; they would
like to come again, the next time they are in town.

Thanks to all the choir, for all you do for the church throughout the
year -- through music, fellowship, and service to others.

Sincerely,
                Allan
